Summary of duties & Skills required: 

Delivering high standards to residents by providing

nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals that are safely and hygienically

prepared and served. To support with specialist dietary requirements as

required and have knowledge of these areas through training.

Responsible for managing and controlling the food levels for ordering.

Completing all paperwork and ensuring it is up to date.

Having a good understanding of health and safety and coshh.

Supporting the activity when involving food prep and parties or special

occasions.

Responsible for all kitchen equipment ensuring it is in full, safe working

order, reporting any damage or faults to the Home Manager and/or

Maintenance person.

Regularly monitor and assess resident’s satisfaction with the

catering service provided in their home, and respond accordingly and

positively to ideas and feedback.

Kitchen experience and knowledge of food safety requirements within a kitchen setting. Ideally you will have previous experience working in a care / care home environment and an understanding of dementia and being person centered .

 However, if you`re new to the care sector mandatory training and support will be offered, but above all, a positive and can-do attitude is essential.
